'The Akoma' was originated from black love day, which is celebrated every year on February 13th and is a nationally commerated African American holiday. This design is celebrated all year around, as it is important to display and showcase black love 365 days a year. 'Akoma' means the heart and represents love, unity, endurance, patience, tolerance, goodwill, and faithfulness. Our 'The Akoma' design celebrates African Amerian culture, with an emphasis on black family and black community. This design also borrows elements from Kwanzaa, such as the power phrase Cooperative Economics (Ujamaa).
